The Japan Foundation holds, on the ground floor of JHSP, the Japanese Posters – 7 Masters of Graphic Design exhibit.
Posters are typically used to advertise products or plays, but they can also promote movements in favor of peace or of environmental preservation.
For this exhibit, a few pieces were chosen that represent a diversity of posters, including those that have a strong relationship with ukiyo-e (a genre of Japanese printing that is similar to wood engraving).
In the near future, the Japan Foundation plans to hold a new exhibit under the same theme, but with more pieces. Follow the fanpage to stay on top of the news.
The Japan Foundation in São Paulo has showcased the Japanese culture to Brazil for over 40 years by means of three pillars: Artistic culture, studies of Japan, and Japanese language teaching.
