In a message to travelers from Brazil, Mr. Susumu Matsumoto, Executive Director of JNTO in New York, stated:

As we concluded the Year of Friendship Exchange between Brazil and Japan in 2025, commemorating 130 years of diplomatic relations, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) continues to work to expand travel and cultural exchanges between our two countries in 2026. Brazil is home to the largest Japanese community outside Japan, and interest in visiting Japan has clearly risen. In 2025, visits from Brazil surpassed the 100,000 mark, with over 110,000 Brazilians travelling to Japan. This underscores strong demand among Brazilians for authentic experiences, and the trend continues.

Through Japan House São Paulo and a curated collection of tourist materials, JNTO aims to meet this growing demand by offering detailed information on Japan’s diverse destinations, ranging from cultural heritage sites to cutting-edge innovations. Our goal is to make Japan more accessible, inspiring more Brazilians to experience firsthand the rich cultural ties that unite our countries. In addition, JNTO is strengthening its activities in Brazil to ensure that visitors can enjoy dazzling, once-in-a-lifetime experiences in Japan that will remain treasured memories.”
